Community Leadership Institute 10th Anniversary & Kickoff
It's been 10 years of the Community Leadership Institute, and we'd love to celebrate with you!
Founded in 2015, the Community Leadership Institute is a transformative fellowship program for emerging leaders of color in Washington State. Over the past decade, the Community Leadership Institute has become one of the most successful boards and commissions placement programs designed for leaders of color. Since 2015, over 150 fellows have graduated from the fellowship, and over 80% of graduates are serving in civic and community leadership roles.
We'll be celebrating Our Community, Our Shine: CLI's 10th Anniversary on Saturday, September 20th at the Northwest African American Museum in Seattle. Save your seat today!
We’ll kick off the day with a community lunch, followed by a program featuring CLI alumni, mentors, and local leaders. Then, we'll welcome the 20 new fellows joining the King County fellowship this fall. We'll honor the stories of the 150+ fellows who graduated from the Community Leadership Institute over the past decade, and the many people who made their journeys possible.

The anniversary event is free to attend, and lunch will be provided. The Northwest African American Museum has free parking and easy access using public transit along Rainier and 23rd Avenue.

Help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 through a peer-to-peer campaign for CLI's 10th Anniversary in September 2025. Become a donor organizer! As a donor organizer, you‘ll have a unique donation page to share with friends, family, and neighbors.
Set a fundraising goal: You can set your own fundraising goal, and can customize your fundraising page's name and description to share with your network. The peer-to-peer campaign will be Saturday, September 20th through Tuesday, September 30th.
Decide your outreach strategy: How you choose to ask is up to you - you could text some friends, send some emails, share your fundraising page on social media, whichever way feels best to you! We'll help you out every step of the way and provide more ideas during the month of September, in addition to sending a campaign toolkit to support your outreach.
